Jeffrey Siegel is a bridge builder. He's made a career out of building bridges between classical music and new audiences.
Siegel knows how to keep you engaged. He doesn't let you get bored. This gifted concert pianist, who has played with most of the world’s big orchestras, puts on solo performances – part music, part talk – that are lively and enjoyable for everyone in the house.
Classical performances were not always upper crust events. Siegel brings classical music back to what it used to be – the music of the people. There was a time when audiences packed up a snack, grabbed a bottle of wine and went to the show. They often talked to their friends as musicians played. “Keyboard Conversations” aren’t quite that informal, but they are interactive. They encourage laughter and end with a Q & A session.
Siegel rolls through northern California at least once a year. If you haven’t yet experienced his show, you’ll have an opportunity to see him four times in the next ten months at the Harris Center in Folsom. Leave your tux at home.
