Sacramento police are investigating a Friday afternoon shooting at the ABC10 studio building on Broadway near 3rd Street.
Police say several bullets struck a window in the building’s lobby area just after 1:30 p.m.
Sacramento Police spokesperson Anthony Gamble said the building was occupied at the time, but nobody was injured.
“When officers got here, they quickly realized the window was struck by at least three bullets,” Gamble said.
As of Friday afternoon, police did not have any suspect or motive information to release, Gamble said.
“We don’t know if it was targeted, or if it was random,” Gamble said. “But nonetheless, it’s unacceptable behavior.”
Gamble said Sacramento police are working with ABC10 to gather more information about the shooting, “one, to try to figure out what happened. Then two, to hopefully bring the people that did this to justice.”
ABC10 and parent company TEGNA did not immediately respond to CapRadio’s request for comment.
Gamble urged anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Sacramento Police Department.
The shooting comes one day after a dozen protesters gathered outside the station to criticize ABC for its decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show.
His show was put on hold over comments the comedian made about conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
