Sacramento set a weather record in July when the thermometer hit at least 90 degrees every day.
That's never happened before in July since records began being kept in 1877, according to the National Weather Service.
And August is starting off with a heat wave. Despite setting the record for 90 degree days in July, Sacramento has seen fewer 100 degree days this year. There have been 20 days when temperatures passed the century mark. Last year there were 22 days of 100 degrees by the end of July.
