(AP) - San Diego police have shot and killed a 15-year-old boy they say pulled a gun on them in a high school parking lot.
It happened just before 3:30 a.m. Saturday at Torrey Pines High School.
Lt. Mike Holden
tells KNSD-TV that the boy had called police and asked them to check on a "male juvenile" in front of the school.
Holden says investigators believe the teen was talking about himself.
Holden says when two officers showed up and got out of their patrol car, the 15-year-old pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at one officer.
Both officers opened fire. The boy was shot several times and died at a hospital.
His name hasn't been released but police say he lived in the neighborhood.
