The Sacramento Metro Fire Department responded to a two alarm fire Monday night just before midnight in the Arden Arcade area. A large fire between two residential homes took more than 50 firefighting personnel to contain.

The 7 occupants of both homes and a cat and a dog were all rescued from the blaze without harm.  One firefighter-paramedic suffered minor injuries.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire, which the Sacramento Metro Fire Department says started outside the home.
