(AP) - Authorities in Northern California say a man wanted in the fatal shooting of a mother in front of her two young children has been arrested.
Richmond Police Lt. Felix Tan says 43-year-old lawyer Dushan McBride was arrested Wednesday in Sacramento with the help of U.S. Marshals.
Police say McBride shot his ex-girlfriend Rashanda Franklin once in the chest in front of her children Tuesday as she drove them to school in Richmond. She was found wounded behind the steering wheel and died at the scene. Her children, both boys, were not physically hurt.
A $2 million warrant had been issued for McBride's arrest.
Tan says police in the past had been called for domestic violence situations involving the couple but didn't give any other details.
