A medical cannabis dispensary in Calaveras County is suing the County Board of Supervisors to try to block a ballot initiative giving voters a chance to ban commercial cannabis cultivation.
The lawsuit filed Thursday on behalf of Calaveras Naturals asks a judge to take Measure B off the ballot because of a procedural error in its wording. The ballot initiative seeks a ban on commercial cultivation of medical and recreational marijuana in Calaveras County.
That would include cannabis cultivation, processing, delivery and transportation and marijuana dispensaries in the unincorporated parts of the county. Measure B is scheduled for a mail-in, countywide election in early May.
