Crime decreased in Sacramento by 6.1 percent in 2016 compared to the year before.

The Sacramento Police Department says crime went down in just about every category.

Homicides dropped by 4.7 percent and burglaries fell by 17.5 percent from 2015.

The statistics come from The Uniform Crime Reports, which compiles official data on crime in the U.S. and is put out by the FBI.
