Students at a Natomas high school held a walk out today in response to Donald Trump's election as the next president. Several dozen Inderkum High School students gathered around the flagpole and the peaceful protest grew as school let out.
They held signs saying, "Hate Has No Place In America."
Protestors chanted, "Not my president...Love Trumps Hate...Love Trumps Hate."
Ninth grader Isabella Herndon spoke about the potential negative impact Donald Trump's rhetoric will have on young women.
"Those little girls are going to grow up knowing what Trump said about women. And that is not right," says Herndon.
Protest organizer Julia Orozco said she and her peers came together to show unity and counter president-elect Donald Trump's comments about Muslims and undocumented immigrants.
High school students in Davis and the Bay Area also held anti-Trump protests today.
