The Sacramento Police Department arrested an officer on drug-related charges, including possession of illegal drugs while armed, late Friday night.

The department said in a press release that 45-year-old Isaac Knutila, who has been with the department for 16 years, was arrested after a  search found him in possession of illegal drugs including amphetamines and more than an ounce of marijuana. Knutila was booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail.

The Sacramento Police Department and Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office are conducting an ongoing investigation. The department says there is currently no evidence Knutila engaged in criminal activity while on duty.

The original investigation began after the department received a tip, on October 13,  that Knutila was possibly involved in “prostitution-related activity” at a Sacramento hotel.
