Sacramento's Urijah Faber has announced his retirement as a mixed martial arts fighter.
Faber announced his decision on the online program, "The MMA Hour."
"The California Kid" says he will step away from the octagon after his December 17th fight against Brad Picket in Sacramento.
Faber is 37 and has lost three of his last four fights.
He's credited with bringing attention to mixed martial arts’ lighter weight class divisions.
