A Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy was injured yesterday after being knocked to the ground and hitting her head. It happened when deputies were confronting a belligerent man inside a Starbuck's in the 1500 block of Howe Avenue.
When deputies responded to the area, they were notified by citizens that a separate male subject was inside the Starbuck’s and challenging people to a fight.
The suspect, a 31-year-old man, refused to cooperate. When the deputies tried to detain him, the suspect started fighting with them and knocked one of the deputies to the ground.
She lost consciousness momentarily and was taken to a hospital for observation. The other deputy tazed the suspect who was then taken into custody.
