The dedication ceremony including performances of different kinds of music, designed to show off the hall’s resonant acoustics. The Empyrean Ensemble performed a piece by faculty composer Ross Bauer.

The $16.8 million, 17,000 square-foot Pitzer Center bears the name of Ann E. Pitzer, a UC Davis graduate back in the 1950s who left a $5 million bequest.
