A fitness center just north of Downtown Sacramento is planning to build a new addition that might seem out-of-place. The Sacramento Business Journal's Managing Editor for Digital News — Christopher Arns — says the owners of Sacramento Pipeworks are envisioning a micro-brewery and brew pub.

"They've already submitted development plans to the city," Arns says. "And what it appears that they're going to do is remodel two storage buildings on the same property as Pipeworks, although the gym itself isn't getting any changes. The brew pub would serve primarily pizza along with the beer."

Pipeworks' 11,000 square foot facility includes the typical gym offerings like weights and indoor cycling, as well as climbing walls.
