The Marysville City Council has voted to allow medical marijuana in the city with limitations. Beginning Feb.18, growing medical marijuana will be allowed only in a licensed medical marijuana dispensary.

Only two dispensaries will be permitted within the city. Applicants for a permit and their employees must undergo financial and criminal background investigations.

Dispensaries will be required to provide adequate security. The taxes and fees that dispensaries must pay have not been set. The council is expected to make those decisions later this spring.
