(AP) - Authorities say a 9-year-old boy was mauled to death by his guardian's three pit bulls after he was left alone with the dogs inside her mobile home in Northern California.
The Yuba County Sheriff's Department says the 24-year-old unidentified woman left the child alone on Sunday in Linda, California and went to work. She returned about three hours later and found the boy had been mauled by the dogs.
It says the child was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The department says the woman is the child's guardian and a suspect in the case but that no arrests have been made. It released no other details.
It says the dogs were seized by Animal Care Services, which reports having no history with the animals.
