Winter Storm Advisory In Effect For Reno

Tuesday's wintry storm dropped up to a foot of snow in some areas of the Sierra Nevada.

Between eight and 13 inches of snow fell in the Sugar Bowl resort near Truckee.

Meanwhile, thousands of customers in northern Nevada were without power as the cold front packed winds gusting up to 60 miles-an-hour.

NV Energy reported about 3,000 outages around Reno and Carson City.

A winter storm advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. Wednesday around Reno.
