Cal Fire says the Butte Fire in Amador and Calaveras counties is now 100 percent contained at 70,868 acres. The fire started September 9.
It killed two people and destroyed 475 homes and damaged 343 outbuildings. The cause of the wildfire is under investigation.
All evacuation orders, advisories and road closures have been lifted.
