Lanes On I-80 Reopen After Crash Involving Multiple Big Rigs

1:57 p.m. - Caltrans authorities say all lanes have reopened at Castle Peak near Donner Summit.

A crash Thursday morning involving five big rigs snarled traffic in the area.

Officials are reporitng heavy congestion at Castle Peak near Donner Summit.

 

Original Post: Caltrans authorities say a crash involving five big rigs have shut down traffic on eastbound Interstate 80 in Castle Peak. 

Caltrans say motorists should expect major travel delays as crews work to clear the area. 

There is no estimated time for when the freeway will reopen.

Detours for big rigs are in place at Kingvale. Cars and small trucks are being detoured to old U.S. Highway 40 in Soda Springs.
