One would allow consumers to ask a court to set aside a default judgment until they contest their cases. Another would adjust how much salary can be garnished to pay off a debt. All three measures return to the Senate for final votes.
The Senate has approved a bill that prevents local agencies from obtaining federal surplus military equipment without local government approval. It now returns to the Assembly for a final vote.
The Senate also gave final approval to a measure that would require law enforcement agencies to obtain warrants before accessing data on electronic devices. That bill now goes to the governor.
