The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning until 6:30 p.m. Monday for the Dayton and Stagecoach areas of northern Nevada.
The weather service says water has already flowed into several homes along U.S. 50 in the Six Mile Canyon area.
A flash flood watch has been issued for Reno and Carson City until 9 p.m. Monday and a severe thunderstorm warning issued for the greater Lake Tahoe area.
The National Weather Service says there could be mudslides if the thunderstorms produce a lot of rain on areas recently burned near Highway 89.
