Nevada legislative committees will be considering more than 35 bills Friday. We take a look at some of the highlights of what promises to be a busy day.
- The issue of mental health is on two committee agendas. One bill would establish a toll-free state-wide mental health crisis line. Another would require faster transmission of mental health records to police. The goal is to prevent gun sales to the mentally ill.
- Also in committees today a definition of obesity and requiring an annual state report on the condition.
- Lawmakers will consider setting the minimum font size for printed election materials and they will consider a process for dissolving cities in severe financial emergencies.
- Later in the week legislators will introduce alternatives to Governor Brian Sandoval’s tax plan.
