Storm System To Bring More Rain To Sacramento Region

Monday, December 15, 2014 | Sacramento, CA | Permalink

Rainy weather will be with us through much of this week.

Brooke Bingaman with the National Weather Service in Sacramento says this is a slow moving system and we should see steady rain this Monday morning.

"The heaviest rain right now is generally occurring between Modesto and probably the Sacramento international airport, so any commuters along I-5 will be noticing they should have steady rain in that area, and any motorists along I-80 from the Bay Area on up to Auburn, that's where it's heaviest," she says.

Bingaman says this storm isn't as strong as the one last week. We can expect one inch to one-and-a-half inches of rain-- and around a foot of snow in the Sierra-- with snow as low as 4,500 feet. Bingaman says we could get a brief break in the rain around Thursday, but another storm is on the way for Friday and Saturday.
