Report: Home Prices Up, Sales Modest

The median price of a home in October was $259,000; an 8 percent increase from a year ago. Meanwhile, home sales are down slightly. Research firm CoreLogic DataQuick says 1,865 new and resale houses and condos sold in Sacramento County last month; down 1.4 percent from last year. In the 8 county region, Placer County has the highest median home price of $395,000. And Yuba County has the lowest at about $202,500.
