Eiler, Bald, French Fires Update: Evacuation Orders Lifted

(AP) -- Officials say evacuation orders have been lifted or are expected to be lifted for the Eiler, Bald and French fires.

State fire spokeswoman Lynne Polmachoff says the evacuation for residents who live in about a dozen homes near the Bald Fire was lifted Tuesday afternoon.

The evacuation comes after the U.S. Forest Service says the containment for the fire rose to 68 percent. The Bald Fire has already burned 39,926 acres in the Lassen National Forest.
