For the past week, an anonymous person has been leaving money in envelopes all over the Bay Area with the intent that people find the cash... and share it. After hiding the money, he or she has sent clues and pictures via the website Twitter so people know where to look. The envelopes each include a request that the person who finds the money take a picture with the cash, and tweet a "selfie" when the money is found.
The person hiding the money goes by the twitter handle, "hiddencash" and claims to have made the money from San Francisco real estate. @hiddencash says a trip to southern California is in the offing and people who live in Los Angeles will soon have chances to find money, and share it, there too.
@hiddencash now has more than 187,000 followers on Twitter.
