(AP) -- No injuries have been reported.
Officials with the Los Padres National Forest say the fire broke out yesterday near Pfeiffer Ridge Road and state Highway 1, about 1.4 miles from the Ventana Inn. It's burned about 500 acres.
Officials are hopeful they can contain the fire within the next couple of days.
The Red Cross has set up a shelter for people who've been displaced by the fire.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
