Chris Capra with SMUD says customers in the future can learn about outages using their smart phones.
"Look at the SMUD webpage,” he says. “Click at the outages tab. A mobile browser will open. And you'll be able to see if your neighborhood's effected and it will also give you an estimated time of restoration that you can expect your power to be back on."
Capra says the largest outage in North Highlands occurred when a circuit breaker was tripped. That outage lasted one-to-two minutes.
