Brown Promises to Sign Minimum Wage, Fracking Bills

The California State Senate meets in floor session Wednesday afternoon.

has promised to sign bills that would raise the minimum wage and regulate the oil and gas extraction technique known as “fracking.”

Lawmakers have also sent legislation enacting the prisons deal reached earlier this week to the governor’s desk. 

One big issue that’s still unresolved is a measure that would make changes to the California Environmental Quality Act.

Lawmakers are expected to adjourn for the year late Thursday night.
