Kings Hire New Assistant Coach

The new head coach of the Sacramento Kings has added another assistant to his staff.  The Kings announced the team has hired former college and NBA assistant coach, Chris Jent to be on head coach Michael Malone’s staff.
“Adding Chris to our coaching staff provides the team with a coach who will remain loyal to the mission of returning this franchise to prominence,” said Malone. “He’s experienced at the professional and collegiate levels, is extremely well-prepared, and has made a significant contribution in every stop along his coaching career.”
Jent’s most recent position was as an assistant coach at Ohio State.  In the past two years, the Buckeyes were 60-15, were in the 2012 NCAA Basketball Tournament Final Four and the 2013 Elite Eight.
He spent 10 seasons playing professionally, including two years in the NBA. He has previously been an assistant for the Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic –including 18 games as the interim head coach, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In his year with Cleveland, the Cavaliers were the NBA’s top defensive squad, holding opponents to a league-low 91.4 points per game.

Jent joins Michael Malone's father, Brendan on the staff.
