Apply now, UC Berkeley students: CapRadio California Capitol fellowship for reporting on policy and politics Due to a generous donation from a UC Berkeley alumni and loyal CapRadio member, our editorial team is excited to announce a new, annual fellowship opportunity reporting on California policy and politics. This summer fellowship, which will take place from May to August, will position a UC Berkeley student journalist in California’s capital city, collaborating with our politics and policy team on daily news and enterprise reporting. The internship is an opportunity to cultivate front-lines experience covering the legislators, policymakers, community organizers and advocates who make up the Capitol ecosystem. The summer intern will: Develop, report, write and produce stories for CapRadio’s multiple platforms, including digital and broadcast Work closely with our Politics Reporter and editors on state government coverage and strategy Receive coaching, mentorship and support from our editorial team Join the Sacramento Press Club and make connections with the Capitol press corps Generate text and digital bylines Cultivate audio and broadcast skills and clips Appear on CapRadio on-air programs and talk shows A few details about this year’s fellowship: Estimated 10 week program begins on May 22 and ends on August 4 must be a UC Berkeley student up to 30 hours per week $22.50 per hour compensation Applications are due Friday, February 17.
