Leslie Oberst Associate Director of Donor Development

Leslie Oberst remembers listening to “Click and Clack” (Tom and Ray Magliozzi of the long-running NPR program Car Talk), dreaming about a future career as a car mechanic. Public radio continues to inspire dreams of being a storyteller, news correspondent, and music DJ. 

Leslie’s love of public radio, especially CapRadio, is rooted in her passion for community. Having grown up in Sacramento, she received her engineering degree at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and returned “home” to start a family. Today she greatly enjoys her role as Donor Engagement Officer at CapRadio and appreciates the opportunity to engage with other listeners. 

Prior to joining CapRadio in October 2024, Leslie volunteered and worked for many other community-based organizations, including David Lubin Elementary School and Congregation B’nai Israel. 

In her free time, she enjoys thumbing through cookbooks for new recipes to try!
