Devan Kortan

Former Jazz Announcer

Devan Kortan is a former host for jazz music programs on Capital Public Radio's music station.

Devan has had a proclivity for jazz and broadcasting since high school. As a senior at Rio Americano High School, he both pioneered a podcast for the school newspaper and was Assistant Band Director, receiving honors from the Essentially Ellington Competition and the Mingus Jazz Festival in New York City. He is formerly an intern at Capital Public Radio.

Devan is a jazz guitarist and vocalist, and you can catch him playing in venues all around Northern California.

He is currently pursuing a degree in philosophy from California State University, Sacramento where he is developing his theory that everybody likes jazz.
