June 4, 7:54 a.m.: The Aukum fire burning near Placerville is burning 25 acres and is 70 percent contained. There are still voluntary evacuations in effect for the east side of Sandridge & Bucks Bar Road to Mount Aukum Road.
Mount Aukum Road is closed from Four Corners to Tiger's Eye.
June 3, 3:09 p.m.: The Aukum fire has swelled to 45 acres and is 20 percent contained. Cal Fire reports the firefighters are making good progress.
2:25 p.m.: Voluntary evacuations are in place for the Aukum Fire burning in El Dorado County Friday.
According to the El Dorado County Sheriff, the voluntary evacuations are for the east side of Sandridge & Bucks Bar Rd to Mt. Aukum Rd.
The blaze is 20 percent contained.
Original Post: Cal Fire crews are battling a 25-acre wildfire Friday burning south of Placerville.
The Aukum Fire, which started at about 12:41 p.m., is located off Mount Aukum Road and Grizzly Flat Road.
