The California Highway Patrol says it cannot confirm if another fatal accident that happened last night was caused by a wrong-way driver.
This accident occurred just before midnight last night on U-S 50 just east of I-5.
The CHP says at least three cars were involved. One man, identified as a 61-year-old from Sacramento has died. CHP says another man has life threatening injuries from the crash.
The crash closed the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 overnight. They were re-opened before the morning commute, at about 3:30 a.m.
In the past month, there have been three fatal wrong-way crashes in the Sacramento region. All three involved multiple fatalaties.
