Steinberg Holds Off On Calling For Wright's Resignation Until 'Final Conviction'

Instead, Steinberg is recommending that Wright be removed from the committee he chairs.

That’s less severe than the punishment Steinberg imposed on Democrat Ron Calderon after reports of the FBI targeting Calderon in a corruption investigation.

Steinberg says each case has its own circumstances.

Steinberg says Wright is not yet a convicted felon because he’s appealing the jury’s verdict – and won’t call for him to leave office unless there’s a “final conviction.”
