The city of Sacramento's pitch to win a Major League Soccer franchise Wednesday in New York went exceptionally well according to Mayor Darrell Steinberg.
He says the details of what Sacramento can offer the league will evolve in the days ahead, based on some questions asked during the meeting.
"While some of it is confidential, I can tell you that while we have a great bid that we're going to work in the days ahead to make an already strong bid even stronger," Steinberg said.
The league is expected to make a decision as soon as the Dec. 14.
MLS is picking two expansion cities from a group of four, including Sacramento, Cincinnati, Detroit, and Nashville.
Steinberg says he was impressed by the enthusiasm of a group of Sacramento soccer fans who flew out to New York to cheer in front of the building where the meeting was taking place.
