The Sacramento Police Department has released some videos from a July officer-involved shooting that ended with the suspect arrested and uninjured.
Home surveillance footage shows Clifton Allison running from police and tossing something to the ground immediately before his arrest.
The department says the item was a gun.
An officer had responded to a report of a man at 20th Avenue and 36th Street in the neighborhood with a pistol.
The officer says when he arrived, Allison pointed the gun at him. The officer fired five shots.
None of them hit Allison.
Although there are 29 body and dash cam videos associated with this incident, the initial contact between Allison and the officer was not caught by a camera because the officer, who is a member of the SWAT team, had not been given one.
Allison was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, being a felon in possession of a firearm and outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
