Sacramento Mayor and City Council
Races More than 20 people are vying for the Mayor's
seat and four Sacramento City Council seats in this Tuesday's
election. District 2 and District 4 are possibly the closest watched
council races since Rob Fong and Sandy Sheedy have decided not to
run for reelection and neither district has an incumbent
candidate. Senior Staff Writer for the Sacramento
News and Review, Cosmo Garvin, has been profiling the candidates
and joins us to explain which candidates are running strong and
which are falling by the wayside. If you'd like to see a
one-minute video of each candidate explaining why you should elect
them, click HERE.

Rail Tales Brian Green has been riding
Sacramento Regional Transit Light Rail for most of two
decades, but it was only in the last few years - with the advent of
portable electronic devices and social media outlets - that he
decided to post stories to Facebook about all the unique people he
interacts with everyday. When Brian accumulated more than 600
friends and 200 posts on Facebook he decided to write 'Rail Tales.' The book is 100 pages and
consists of small stories/vignettes - laid out by month. It
also includes random photos Brian has taken on light rail train
rides throughout Sacramento. We joined Brian on his normal commute
route and asked him to explain the
inspiration for his tales. Brian will be selling and
signing copies of his book at Midtown Village Cafe/Coffeehouse on Saturday, June
9.
