Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson’s drive to transform the city’s government into a strong mayor system has been defeated. With 100 percent of precincts reported, the final vote tally was 42.78 in favor of Measure L and 57.22 percent opposed. Sacramento City Manager John Shirey, whose job was at stake in the decididing over Measure L, joins us to talk about what comes next.
