| | | Big Announcement: Jennifer Reason Is Our New Midday Classical Host | We are excited to welcome Jennifer Reason as our new midday classical announcer. You can hear Jennifer weekdays from 10 am to 2 pm. She will also serve as our first-ever community liaison for music. An accomplished classical pianist, Jennifer has appeared in solo and ensemble performances across Europe, the United States and Canada.
Recently, she completed her 9th international festival tour, including twice appearing as a soloist to critical acclaim at the Interharmony International Music Festival in Germany, as well as at the Schlern and Orfeo International Music Festivals in Italy. She has also appeared in an ensemble setting at Carnegie Hall, the Vatican, the Liszt Academy in Hungary, and the international Festival of Peace and Brotherhood in Italy.
Jennifer officially starts as our midday classical announcer this week, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have her. In a recent Q&A, she explained what brought her to this role at CapRadio:
"Getting to talk about music every day. I try to tell people a lot of interesting things about the music, or the composers, or the performers that maybe they didn't know. I hope they'll just fall in love with all of the music, and come back again and again." | |

| | | | CapRadio Intern Esther Myers' Capstone Project on the Sacramento Youth Symphony | CapRadio is committed to providing learning and growth opportunities for our youth. That's why Paul Conley, Managing Editor of Music and Arts, helps mentor students interested in music and broadcast journalism.
Esther Myers is a talented French horn player who is completing her senior year at Winters High School. As part of her school's Capstone Mentorship Program, Esther shadowed Paul over four months this year and learned how to produce a radio feature story.
The mentorship culminated in a final project, where Esther recorded and edited several interviews and orchestra rehearsals, wrote and voiced her narration, and assembled and mixed the piece using Adobe Audition digital audio software.
