Dear [NAME],
THANK YOU. These words cannot express the gratitude we have for your commitment to CapRadio and support as a listener and member. As an Evergreen member, your contributions have made all the difference in helping us overcome our financial crisis and build a better CapRadio.
Since our financial hardships came to light in the fall of last year, the collective efforts of CapRadio’s new leadership team, dedicated staff, members and Sacramento State have helped us stabilize our core operations and put the organization in a much better financial position.
This has been a challenging journey for all of us at CapRadio — and all of you who care deeply about local public media. But we are pleased to share that we have addressed last year’s $7M budget deficit by reducing expenses and operating more efficiently as the community has rallied to support the future of public media in our region. We have lowered our accounts payable from over $4M to under $2M in the last six months, we have completed five of seven payment plans early with our major vendors and we have caught up on all other outstanding invoices.
We have accomplished all of this while placing a renewed emphasis on our public service mission. We continue to improve and expand audience services including on-air news content and local journalism, state government and accountability reporting, locally produced classical music and jazz and our SacramenKnow newsletter. And the results have been inspiring as we’ve recently achieved the highest listenership in nearly two years.
Your support directly contributes to this remarkable transformation that is taking place, one that will ensure that our region maintains the gift of public media for generations to come. |
