Young Mutton Busters A Rodeo Favorite

NPR
Friday, July 4, 2014

Kids between the ages of 5 and 7 are strutting their stuff at country fairs and on the rodeo circuit.

Across the Midwest, they’re competing in mutton busting competitions where they climb on woolly sheep and see how long they can hang on.

From the Here & Now Contributors Network, Luke Runyon of Harvest Public Media reports from a competition in Greeley, Colorado, where he followed the fortunes of one young competitor.
