The Baltimore synth-dance group Future Islands has had a big year. It released Seasons, a synth-laden, hard-driving, heart-on-its-sleeve love letter to disco bass and earnestness. After their Late Show With David Letterman performance, singer Samuel Herring's legs and torso were immortalized in .GIF after .GIF.

Last night's show at Harlow's was a raw, sweaty affair, lit in gold, red, purple and a sea of blue. Producer and Blue Dog Jam Host Nick Brunner took these photos.

Future Islands: Live from NPR

Future Islands' Sacramento show sold out early after it was announced this past spring. If you weren't at Harlow's last night, check out NPR Music's archived concert from Washington D.C.'s 9:30 Club from May of this year.
