Mandatory Evacuations Lifted For Clipper Gap In Placer County

UPDATE 6:06 p.m.: Authorities have lifted evacuation orders for the Clipper Gap fire in Placer County Tuesday afternoon.

Only residents are allowed back to Clipper Creek.

UPDATE 5:44 p.m.: A mandatory evacuation is underway Tuesday afternoon just north of Auburn because of a new wildfire.

It's burning just east of Interstate-80.

The Placer County Sheriff's Office says there is a hard closure at Clipper Gap and Applegate Roads.

Surrounding roads are being evacuated.


Original Post: A fire in Placer County has prompted officials to order mandatory evacuations Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Placer County Sheriff's Department, the fire is burning near Clipper Gap. Evacuations are in place for Clipper Gap, Clipper Creek, Boole and Cerro Vista roads. 

A hard closure is in place at Clipper Gap and Applegate roads.
