On Friday, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department's Service Center at  Marconi and Fulton will close.

Sergeant Lisa Bowman says the department was unable to come to a lease agreement with the building's owner.

"The service center has basically served the community by being able to take certain types of reports. We have LiveScan that is still available at other areas. The public can go to our website to see the hours."

The Marconi Avenue center was one of seven in the county. Volunteers staff the centers, which are typically used by people to report non-violent crime, have fingerprints taken, or host community events.

The department recommends people who typically use the Marconi Center to use the Dewey Drive center.
