Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco in 1929
Born in Florence, Italy, composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (1895-1968) probably became more widely known for his later compositions written for legendary Spanish guitarist Andrés Segovia. But before that he was already a renowned composer, as demonstrated in his 1932 Piano Quintet No. 1 which is today’s Midday Masterpiece.
