UPDATE 8:00 p.m. Wednesday: CAL FIRE says the Wall Fire in Butte County is now 6,033 acres and 70 percent contained.
UPDATE 6:34 p.m. Wednesday: CAL FIRE Butte County says all evacuation orders and warnings for the Wall Fire have now been rescinded.
As of 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, CAL FIRE continues to report the fire as 5,800 acres and 60 percent contained.
The agency says the fire has destroyed 41 residences and damaged 3 more.
UPDATE 11:00 A.M. Wednesday: CAL FIRE Butte County announced that all evacuation orders have been reduced to warnings. All evacuation warning areas are open only to residents with identification
Crews have increased containment of the Wall Fire that sent thousands of people fleeing their homes last weekend. Officials have also downgraded the number of structures threatened by the fire near Oroville from several thousand to roughly 600.
Evacuees are slowly returning to their homes. The blaze in the grassy foothills of Butte County has burned 5,800 and injured four firefighters. It is 60 percent contained. At least 41 homes and 55 other buildings have been destroyed.
