Sutter Buttes Grass Fire Burns 1,000 Acres

The fire broke out near Pass Road and West Butte Road, nine miles northwest of Yuba City. As of 7 a.m. Wednesday no homes were threatened, according to the Sutter County Office of Emergency Management.

The Feds Decided Not To Ban A Pesticide. Then California Opted To List It As Toxic.

A few months after the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ruled to not ban the pesticide chlorpyrifos, California's Scientific Review Panel unanimously agreed this week that it should be listed as a toxic air contaminant.

Third Wildfire Burning In Mendocino County

The Mendocino Complex fires have burned seven homes along 80,408 acres of rural land. Fire crews were able to slow the spread of one of the blazes into populated areas and instead the fire pushed into the Mendocino National Forest.

Officials Locate 14 Of 20 Listed As Missing In Carr Fire, Seek Information On Remaining Six

Fourteen of the 20 people listed Tuesday afternoon as missing in relation to the Carr Fire have been located. Officials are still seeking help to find the remaining six. The fire near Redding has destroyed 965 homes.
