Some of the Sacramento City Unified School District's youngest students returned to in-person classes Thursday, joining the many kids in the region who have returned to schools over the past weeks and months.
The return includes new safety procedures, such as temperature checks on the way into classrooms and mandatory mask-wearing. At the San Juan Unified School District, which has had some students back since March 22, there are ropes for younger children to practice social distancing and plexiglass barriers in classrooms.
